What are plasmids?

A plasmid is a foreign, small, circular, self-replicating DNA molecule that inhabits a bacterium. A bacterium can habor many plamids and will express the genes carried by the plasmid.

We inserted pGLO plamids into E. coli bacteria to give the bacteria traits that were present on the plasmid.
